What is Mobile Bullet Time?
Mobile Bullet Time brings the matrix effect directly into the action. Several cameras capture one moment from different viewpoints while the system moves freely through the event or operates at changing positions.
How does it differ from a fixed Bullet Time photobooth?
The classic Bullet Time photobooth operates in a fixed shooting area. Mobile Bullet Time follows the action or moves between planned activity points. The result remains a Bullet Time animation from several viewpoints.
Which mobile systems are planned?
pixow WALK arrives in 2027 as a portable Walking Matrix with 6 to 12 iPhones. pixow ROLL moves as a Rolling Matrix across firm, level surfaces and can operate with DSLR cameras or iPhones. Its technical DSLR setup is already ready for use.
How much space does a capture require?
A distance of at least approximately 2 metres is planned between the mobile camera system and the subject. The unit itself is slightly wider than shoulder width. Around 15 to 20 people and, depending on the situation, slightly larger groups are possible.
Do the mobile systems need a power connection?
Both mobile versions can operate without a permanent power connection. Batteries are changed during a break or operator change scheduled after approximately two hours at the latest.
Which surfaces are suitable for the wheeled system?
Firm, level surfaces such as exhibition hall floors or asphalt are ideal. Carpet is also suitable. We assess paving, grass and gentle slopes for the specific event.
Can Mobile Bullet Time be used outdoors?
Outdoor use is possible in dry conditions. Rain on the camera lenses affects the animation, so we need a sheltered base for breaks, battery changes and equipment. This can also serve as an alternative capture area when needed.
How does the lighting work?
The system uses daylight or existing event lighting and continuously adjusts the exposure. A system flash or on-camera flash can be added for evening events.
Do guests need to stand still for the capture?
The actual capture is taken while stationary, just like a regular photo. We plan special action captures, such as a moving vehicle, individually according to the situation and safety requirements.
How quickly is the animation available?
Depending on the selected resolution, the Bullet Time loop is ready after approximately 3 to 6 seconds.
How do guests receive their capture?
Depending on the event, the animation can be delivered directly to a smartphone, by QR code, by email or through a sharing kiosk. Local delivery is also possible without an internet connection.
Is mobile Gaussian Splatting possible?
Gaussian Splatting is technically possible with a mobile unit. It requires a reliable internet connection to the processing hardware at the base. Event Wi-Fi can be used, but its available bandwidth must be checked in advance.
Who transports and supervises the system?
pixow handles transport, setup, dismantling and technical support. One person can operate pixow WALK, while two are recommended so that technology and guest interaction, including sharing, can be handled separately.
What information is needed for planning?
The venue, dates and occasion are the starting point. A site plan, the event schedule and information about visitor flow and preferred activity points help with planning.
